SCARY STORIES AND OTHER HALLOWEENIE TEXTS

We know Halloween is over, but writing and editing texts takes time and so does collecting, scanning and posting them. Anyway, here are some spooky and otherwise halloweenie texts by our students. 

Vampire’s Halloween

During the holidays, I was sleeping during the daytime and when Halloween night came, I went trick-or-treating. The people said that I had a realistic costume. I forgot to take on my costume that night. I went to eat at a luxurious restaurant. The blood was tasty but expensive. Now you know how I spent my holidays. For me, every day is a holiday.

THE NIGHT OF THE WITCHES

               -Mario and Abdul-

It was a Halloween night, but also Marta’s birthday! Marta was

sleeping and it was the middle night. And suddenly, a bad witch

in a pigeon costume, came into Marta’s room. Marta was

terrified and she screamed, “help! Help! Help!”.

The pigeon eyes turned red, and the pigeon took Marta

to a strange place, flying. While they were flying, the pigeon

turned into a witch! The witch had legs of a camel, hair of a

horse, the arms of an eagle and the body of a human.

It’s scream funny, but it is so scary! They arrived at the

strange place. It was a haunted house with ghost name

was Pepito. The witch threw Marta into pumpkin soup and

Marta was screaming in pain, and suddenly she heard a

familiar noise, someone saying “Happy birthday!” and she

woke up.

                              AND IT WAS A DREAM!

To create the instant death of 1 million of person

1. 2 kilos of ashes

2. 4 people

3. 16 souls

4. 3 spider skins

5. 1 liter of dinosaur blood

6. 1 skeleton

7. dust

8. 8 pumpkins

Preparation

You have to put 2 kilos of ash and 4 people in a cauldron, and you stir.

Then you add 16 souls, 3 spider skins and 1 liter of dinosaur blood and stir again.

Then in some way you have to force a skeleton to enter the brew.

Add some dust and 8 pumpkins, you stir, and it’s  finished!

HOW CAN WE SAVE THE PLANET?

For over a month now our 6th graders have been asking themselves this question. We've focused on plastic pollution and what we should and shouldn't do to avoid it. Here is an idea by our student Abdul Ghafar. More to come soon...

What can we make by recycling things?

Today I am going to explain What Can We Make By Recycling things. 

As we're learning about recycling, waste, saving water…

I had an idea, why not make a blog about what can we make by recycling?

PIGGY BANK 

What You’ll need:

• Empty and cleaned water bottle 

• Pink craft paint

• Construction paper

• Black marker

• Tape or glue

• Scissors

Step 1: Paint your entire bottle using the pink craft paint and foam paint brush.

Let it dry completely before moving onto the

next step!

Step 2: cut a rectangle in the top of the bottle. This will be used to insert coins or small treasures into the piggy bank (see above photo).

Step 3: Use the construction paper to cut out ears, legs and a curly tail for your pig. Use the marker to draw details onto the limbs (see above photo), as well as eyes on the bottle. Cover the water bottle lid with construction paper and draw two lines for the pig’s nose.

Step 4: Use tape or glue to attach the pig’s limbs to the bottle.

Now start adding coins to the piggy!   

HALLOWEEN! HALLOWEEN!

Halloween is celebrated in many English speaking countries. In our school we celebrated it in the English classes. We decorated corridors and classrooms. We watched videos to learn about traditions. We did some activities and played some games. And the 6th graders even enjoyed some themed biscuits and chocolate. Here are some pics.

PENFRIENDS' LETTERS; AT LAST!!!!

 We received the first letters from our Italian penfriends! At last!

So much reading! So much excitement and sharing! It is a great project!!

OPEN LETTER TO OUR ITALIAN PENFRIENDS: ENGLISH DAY MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

Dear penfriends, 

While we are waiting for your letters we want to tell you about the Musical theatre workshop we did on the school's English Day.

On the 15th of March we celebrated the English Day. 

First we went to the dining room and we met Maria, a professional dancing teacher. She told us to make a circle. Then she told us that we needed to warm up the body, the voice and the brain. She explained a little game called "Jump in. Jump out". It was very difficult and a lot of fun. We warmed up with different exercises.

After that she organized us in lines and later she taught us the coreography about the song "Happy" (6B) or the song "Don't start now" (6A). We chose the song in class many days before the English Day. Also we learned the lyrics and and we practiced singing it many times. 

Finally we had a chat with Maria and we asked her some questions. The class was very fun and Maria was very kind, polite and patient. 

Here are some videos where you can see us practicing and trying to do the choreography. It was difficult but we did it like professionals. 😅

DIGITAL MAGAZINE PROJECTS

We'd like to present these digital magazines that are the result of a long-term project the 6th grade students do in the "Let's Write" class. 

While half the class is doing "Let's Speak" with Mandy, our language assistant, the other half is doing "Let's Write" with their English teacher. Groups swap at about halfway through the school year. Here are some videos showing the first groups' writing efforts. 

A post for our Italian penfriends: Carnival week at our school!

Dear penfriends,

We haven't contacted you since our video call. So this post is for you. 

Last week was a bit different. It was Carnival!!

Every day of the week before Carnival we came to school with a different thing. During 5 days, from Monday to Friday, we followed the carnival rules we chose in class.

On Monday we wore a special hair style. On Tuesday we wore an accessory about what we want to be when we grow up. On Wednesday we wore our pyjamas (some people also brought their stuffed animals and slippers). On Thursday we wore elegant clothes. And on Friday we wore a full costume. Every class chose a different topic for the costumes. Class 6A chose villains and class 6B chose sports. 

It was a lot of fun to see everybody wearing different clothes, accessories and costumes. And on Friday afternoon we had no class and had a party. 

But we think you are very lucky because our teacher said you had holidays!!!

We say "Hi" to our Italian penfriends

Our 6th grade students take part in a cool project every year. They exchange letters with kids their age in this Italian school. They will also engage in a few online videocalls during which they chat with their Italian penfriend. 

To introduce themselves they recorded a short video and we're posting it here, so our new friends can watch it from Italy. This is all very exciting!

Let's write project: Writing and designing a magazine

 

Here is the result of some weeks of hard work in the Let's write sessions. 6th grade students have been designing and writing a magazine in pairs. Here are a few of them. 

6è Celebrem la Setmana de la Ciència

Aquest divendres 18 de novembre, els alumnes de 6è hem fet un Scape Room per celebrar la Setmana de la Ciència. 

Ens hem aventurat a fer el REPTE MIL·LENIAL que consisteix a fer una visita virtual pel museu de les Aigües de Barcelona i trobar 10 punts taronges. Darrere de cada punt hi ha un enigma basat en un ODS (Objectiu de Desenvolupament Sostenible) i si aconsegueixes resoldre el repte proposat obtens un codi; tots aquests números ens han servit per aconseguir el codi final i poder aconseguir el repte.
