4t MUSICAL PARTICIPATIU: És Dissabte!

El 30 d’abril l’alumnat de 4t de primària hem anat al Teatre del Poblenou (Aliança del Poblenou) a fer un musical participatiu anomenat ÉS DISSABTE! Hi ha 9 cançons i la primera es diu: és dissabte!, la segona es diu: dibuixos animats, la tercera es diu: temps per descansar, la quarta es diu: un nou professor de piano, la cinquena es diu: fem dissabte amb dissabte, la sisena es diu la mare s’ha ben trastocat, la setena es diu: cal!, la vuitena es diu: una festa a la nit, la novena es diu: Reprise: és dissabte.

En el musical participatiu hi ha 3 tipus de solos:

Els de parlar, els de cantar i els de ballar.

El musical va de 8 germans bessons (una família)

1. Mandrós: poc actiu, molt golut, contrapunt de l’esportista.

2. Esportista: molt actiu, només pensa en l’esport, contrapunt del mandrós.

3. Polític: competitiu, motivat, organitzat i ambiciós. Contrapunt del poruc.

4. Poruc: gens competitiu, ploramiques, amb falta d’incentiu. Contrapunt del polític.

5. Empanat: despistat, curt de vista, mig sord però amb un olfacte extraordinari.

Contrapunt del bitxo.

6. Bitxo: espavilat, trapella, passota. Contrapunt de l’empanat.

7. Simple: bast, pagès, amant de les coses senzilles. Contrapunt del pijo.

8. Pijo: mòbil addicte, amant de tot allò que implica luxe i glamour. Contrapunt del simple.

       

COM HO HEM PREPARAT

A les classes de música hem anat aprenent pas a pas totes les cançons i coreografies. La nostra professora (l’Aida) ens va dir que havíem de fer una portada i en aquella portada ens va imprimir les cançons per estudiar. Cada dia aprenem una cançó diferent, i a la següent classe la coreografia. Quan ja ens sabíem totes les cançons vam repassar més les coreografies, sobretot cap a quin costat havíem d’anar en cada moment.

VESTIMENTA

Hem de portar pijama curt (que no tingui el fons blanc), ulleres (amb el vidre tintat) i mitjons llargs (que arribin aproximadament pel genoll).

A la samarreta ens enganxarem 3 estrelles de diferents mides (grans, petites i mitjanes).

OPEN LETTER TO OUR ITALIAN PENFRIENDS: ENGLISH DAY MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

Dear penfriends, 

While we are waiting for your letters we want to tell you about the Musical theatre workshop we did on the school's English Day.

On the 15th of March we celebrated the English Day. 

First we went to the dining room and we met Maria, a professional dancing teacher. She told us to make a circle. Then she told us that we needed to warm up the body, the voice and the brain. She explained a little game called "Jump in. Jump out". It was very difficult and a lot of fun. We warmed up with different exercises.

After that she organized us in lines and later she taught us the coreography about the song "Happy" (6B) or the song "Don't start now" (6A). We chose the song in class many days before the English Day. Also we learned the lyrics and and we practiced singing it many times. 

Finally we had a chat with Maria and we asked her some questions. The class was very fun and Maria was very kind, polite and patient. 

Here are some videos where you can see us practicing and trying to do the choreography. It was difficult but we did it like professionals. 😅

DIGITAL MAGAZINE PROJECTS

We'd like to present these digital magazines that are the result of a long-term project the 6th grade students do in the "Let's Write" class. 

While half the class is doing "Let's Speak" with Mandy, our language assistant, the other half is doing "Let's Write" with their English teacher. Groups swap at about halfway through the school year. Here are some videos showing the first groups' writing efforts. 

4t - Celebrem Carnestoltes!

La setmana passada vam celebrar Carnestoltes a l'escola.

Les consignes de la setmana van ser:

• Dilluns: Pentinat original

• Dimarts: Que vull ser de gran (complement)

• Dimecres: Pijama

• Dijous: Anar elegants

• Divendres: Disfressa (cada classe va escollir el seu tema)

El tema de 4t A van ser les pel·lícules: Willy Wonka, Harry potter i Star Wars

El tema de 4t B van ser els Dibuixos animats: Doraimon, Pokemon, Naruto…

Va ser una setmana molt divertida!!!

4t - Anem al CosmoCaixa

Visitem al CosmoCaixa! 

El dia 2 de febrer, els alumnes de 4t vam anar al Cosmocaixa. 

Què hem fet al CosmoCaixa?Hem fet el taller de Creactivity. Hem visitat el museu i hem anat al bosc

inundat. També hem vist una exposició de dinosaures de la Patagònia. 

Quines activitats hem fet en el Creactivity?

• Llum i ombra: hem jugat amb la làmpada a fer formes de colors.

• Stop motion: hi havia ordinadors i unes càmeres a dalt on podíem

      agafar objectes i fer les mini pel·lícules.

• Mecànica: podíem fer camins amb pals i fusta i tirar una “canica” (bala).

• Tubs de vent: hi havia uns materials per construir coses que poden

      volar dins dels tubs d’aire.

Què hem vist al museu:Ens han ensenyat que era el pèndol i hem tingut temps per poder anar a

veure diferents activitats que hi ha; com per exemple: el globus, el bloc

de gel, la roda de bicicleta, etc. 

Com ens ho hem passat?Super mega bé, us recomanem anar al Cosmocaixa el museu

de la ciència.

A post for our Italian penfriends: Carnival week at our school!

Dear penfriends,

We haven't contacted you since our video call. So this post is for you. 

Last week was a bit different. It was Carnival!!

Every day of the week before Carnival we came to school with a different thing. During 5 days, from Monday to Friday, we followed the carnival rules we chose in class.

On Monday we wore a special hair style. On Tuesday we wore an accessory about what we want to be when we grow up. On Wednesday we wore our pyjamas (some people also brought their stuffed animals and slippers). On Thursday we wore elegant clothes. And on Friday we wore a full costume. Every class chose a different topic for the costumes. Class 6A chose villains and class 6B chose sports. 

It was a lot of fun to see everybody wearing different clothes, accessories and costumes. And on Friday afternoon we had no class and had a party. 

But we think you are very lucky because our teacher said you had holidays!!!

4t - Visitem la supercomputadora MARENOSTRUM

                     SUPERCOMPUTADOR

Els nens i nenes de 4rt de primària vam anar a veure la supercomputadora Marenostrum 4.

El dimarts 3 d'octubre. I ens ho hem passat molt bé.

El supercomputador té com 6.912 cervells i els que teniu a casa segurament són de 2 o 3 cervells.

El supercomputador pot fer tres càlculs mentals en 1 segon.

És un dels ordinadors més potent que es pot visitar.

Té 3.456 plaques base i la càpsula de vidre del voltant serveix per al soroll, la sobre escalfor i la protecció.

We say "Hi" to our Italian penfriends

Our 6th grade students take part in a cool project every year. They exchange letters with kids their age in this Italian school. They will also engage in a few online videocalls during which they chat with their Italian penfriend. 

To introduce themselves they recorded a short video and we're posting it here, so our new friends can watch it from Italy. This is all very exciting!

Getting to know one another

I like to get to know my students as soon as the school year begins. Every year I plan some fun games for the first day to get them excited about learning English, but also, especially in the 5th grade, to get to know how they feel about several topics including school and especially English. 

So I label the four corners of the classroom "love", "like", "don't like", "hate" and the centre as "indifferent". As I say several things or activities students go to the corner of the classroom that corresponds to their preference. I typically say something like: "chocolate", "basketball", "dogs", "maths", "reading",... and I always say "school" and "English". 

An important added lesson is that all opinions are valid and should be respected. I have to model this by reassuring those who say they don't like or even hate English. But I got lucky, because none of my 5th graders hates English this year.

Still, my goal is to try and change their minds during the school year, from 'indefferent' to 'I like', at least. It's only September. There's plenty of time.
